Trimethyl Orthoformate (TMOF) is mainly used to synthesize azoxystrobin and some other pesticides. For medical aspect, it’s used to synthesize pipemidic acid, vitamins, cephalo-type antibiotics, etc. It is also widely used in coating, dye and perfume industries.
