2-Methoxy-1-Propanol other names 2-methoxypropan-1-ol; 2-METHOXY-1-PROPANOL; 2-Methoxypropanol; 1-Propanol, is a by-product in the manufacture of propylene glycol monomethyl ether. Since there are lipophilic covalent ether bonds and hydrophilic alcohol hydroxyl in the molecular structure of 2- methoxy -1-propanol, it has good solubility in oil and water. Additionally, Its hydroxyl group also has reactive activity, which can be used as chemical intermediate.

2-Methoxy-1-Propanol can be present as an impurity in nail enamel, nail polish remover, hair conditioner, hair dye, hair spray and false eyelash adhesive as well as in a solvent to remove false eyelashes.
